The Shade Gap Area
Fire Company is a 100% VOLUNTEER organization that proudly
serves Shade Gap Borough, Dublin Township, and Tell Township in
the Southern end of Huntingdon County Pennsylvania. We operate
out of one station located at 11880 Neelyton Road (Route 641) in
Shade Gap. The company provides fire, rescue, and emergency
medical services. Our first due area consists of approximately
88.9 square miles, that is mostly rural with a majority of the
area being farmlands. Our apparatus includes Special Unit 14, a
2001 Ford F-550 by Pierce, that carries most of our medical and
extrication gear, Engine Rescue 14, a 1985 Ford Pierce engine,
that carries fire suppression equipment and a second Amkus
rescue tool, Engine Tanker 14, a 1995 Pierce Dash engine, that
is our primary fire suppression and mutual aid unit, the last
piece is Brush 14, a 1977 Dodge Power Wagon, that is used for
brush and mountain fires. In addition to our first due area, we
also provide mutual aid to other areas of Huntingdon County as
well as portions of Franklin, Fulton, and Juniata Counties
