The members began to plan for our 25th
Anniversary, the Ladies Auxiliary donated $5,000 to the company
to help with some building renovations
In June the company celebrated 25 years of
service to the community. A open house was held on the 2nd and
3rd, on display were newspaper articles, pictures, and other
historical memorabilia from our first 25 years
1991
In the spring of 1991, the company made
the move into rescue work, buying an Amkus Rescue System. The
system included a power unit and hydraulic spreader unit, cutter
unit, and two rams. The system is used to extricate people who
are trapped in vehicle accidents
1993
Company 14 added to our rescue
capabilities with the purchase of a set of Maxi-Force airbags.
The bags can be used to lift heavy objects off victims
1994
Shade Gap hosted the 48th Annual
Huntingdon County Fireman's Association Convention
In November the company took delivery of a
1995 Pierce Dash custom Engine Tanker. The unit carries 1,500
gallons of water and has a 1,250 gallon per minute pump. Cost
for the unit, $210,000 and the unit replaced our 1980 Ford
tanker

10 new MSA Ultra-Lite SCBA's were
purchased
1999
The company added an Amkus Combi-Tool to
our rescue system, the new tool is a combination cutter/spreader
to be used for extrication
