RECENT NEWS & EVENTS
MVA
July 9- At 21:44, Company 14 was dispatched
for a reported MVA. Company 14 arrived on scene to find two
patients. One patient was transported to the hospital. Company
14 was in quarters at 23:30.
TREE ON ROADWAY
June 12- At 19:11, ER
14 was dispatched for a tree on wires. ER 14 arrived to find a
tree blocking the road. Crews cut what they could to clear the
roadway, and left the rest for the property owner. Company 14
returned at 20:10.
ONE ON ITS ROOF
May 14- Company 14
was dispatched at 23:44 to Route 641 on the Neelyton Mountain
for an MVA with reported one on its roof. Crews arrived to find
a single pickup truck on its roof with the driver self-
extricated from the vehicle. Crews set up traffic control and
the driver was transported to the hospital. Company 14 returned
at 1:30.
FIRST DUE ELECTRICAL FIRE
April 30- At 21:18,
Company 14 was dispatched along with the 14-6 box first alarm
for a possible structure fire in Dublin Township. Engine Tanker
14 responded with a crew of 3 along with Chief 14 (POV). Chief
14 arrived on scene and found a melted fuse box with small
amounts of smoke in the dwelling. Chief 14 held 14, E9, and 900
to scene and placed the rest of the box available. The thermal
camera was used to make a thorough search of the residence and
it was determined that the damage was contained to the fuse box.
Chief 14 placed the box available at 22:00 hours.
ASSIST HUNTINGDON COMPANY
12
April 20- Engine
Tanker 14 was dispatched to assist Huntingdon County Station 12
(Three Springs) in the borough of Saltillo for a reported
structure fire. Chief 12 arrived on scene and placed the box
available as Engine Tanker 14 was responding.
TRANSFER TO FRANKLIN
COMPANY 12
April 19- At 19:04,
station 14 was alerted for a engine transfer to Franklin County
Station 12 (Fannett- Metal), who was on a MVA. Engine Tanker 14
transferred with 6 members who held down the fort for our
brothers over the mountain. Engine Tanker 14 was released at
23:55.
AUTOMATIC ALARM
April 14- At 16:29,
Company 14 was dispatched to Interforest Corp. for an automatic
alarm. Upon arrival, Chief 14 reported that the sprinkler system
in the burn tower was on. A member of Co. 14 was sent into the
tower with an employee to check the insde of the tower. After an
investigation of the tower, Co. 14 found that a plug in the
tower had been spraying water throughout the tower. The
sprinkler was turned off, and Company 14 went available at
17:45.


MOBILE HOME FIRE
April 6- At 04:00,
Company 14 responded to a mobile home fire. Company 14
established a fill site. Crews were back in quarters at 06:48
BRUSH FIRE
April 5- At 11:09, Company 14 responded to
aid Franklin County Company 12(Fannet-Metal) in a brush fire.
Company 14 pulled a line of hose, and helped to control the
fire. Company 14was back in service at 11:54.
TRANSFER TO HUNTINGDON
COUNTY STATION 21
April 2- At 16:16,
Company 14 was dispatched for a Engine transfer to Huntingdon
County Station 21 (Trough Creek). While on the transfer. At
17:41, Engine Rescue 14 responded to a brush fire in Union
Township. The unit was placed available by Chief 2 prior to
their arrival. The rest of the evening was uneventful and Engine
Rescue 14 was released from the transfer at 22:30.
MVA ASSIST IN ROCKHILL BORO
March 28- At 07:28,
Special Unit 14 was dispatched to assist Company 9 (Orbisonia/
Rockhill) and 900 (ORES) in the boro of Rockhill for a vehicle
into a pole, with wires down, and transformer on fire. Special
Unit 14 was staged on High St. for the duration of the incident.
The unit went available at 07:54.
REKINDLE #3
March 26- 2 days, and
1 rain storm after the Croghan Pike fire, Company 14 was once
again alerted to yet another rekindle. Although no apparatus
from 14 responded, Captain 14 went to scene POV, and assisted
Engine 9-1 (Orbisonia/ Rockhill) with debris suppression on the
A-B corner. Approximately 750 gallon was used on the mop-up.
This concludes the Croghan Pike structure fire saga. In summary,
the fire marshal ruled the fire to be of UNDETERMINED ORIGIN.
The fire consisted of 4 separate alarms over a 3 day span.
Approximately 49,600 gallons of water and 1 rainstorm were used
to suppress the fire. A total of 20 units spent just over 9
hours on scene. The property loss for this incident was $20,000.
REKINDLE #2
March 25- At 02:10,
Company 14 was again dispatched to the Croghan Pike fire.
Assistant Chief 14 arrived on scene and found a small amount of
material smoldering on the A-D corner of the debris pile. Engine
Rescue 14 arrived on scene and was assisted by Tanker 9 (Orbisonia/
Rockhill) and Franklin County Tanker 12 (Fannett- Metal).
Approximately 2,000 gallons was used to suppress burning
material. Units went available at 03:34.
REKINDLE #1
March 24- At 13:27,
Company 14 was dispatched initially to assist Fulton County 57
on a reported structure fire. As crews were responding, it was
learned that the address was the same as the Croghan Pike fire
from earlier in the morning. As Engine Tanker 14 arrived on
scene, Deputy chief 14 held Engine Tanker 14, and Fulton County
Engine 1-57 to scene, and placed the rest of the units
available. 2,000 gallons of water and 2 buckets of foam were
used to hit the hot spots. Units went available at 14:23. Thank

ASSIST ON STRUCTURE FIRE
Mach 24- At 06:41, as
the crews were just about to put the units in service from the
Croghan Pike fire, Company 14 was dispatched to assist Fulton
County 57 (Hustontown) for a reported structure fire in Taylor
Township, Fulton County. The tired Engine Tanker 14 crew
responded only to be turned around in Burnt Cabins. Placed
available by Deputy Chief 57.
STRUCTURE FIRE IN FIRST DUE
March 24-
At 00:59, Company 14 was alerted along with a 14-6 box
for a structure fire on Croghan Pike. Chief 14 arrived and
confirmed a working fire. The initial attack came from Engine
Tanker 14, followed shortly by Fulton County Engine 1-57 (Hustontown).
As units arrived they were put in line for water with manpower
going to scene. Engine Rescue 14 set up a fill site behind the
Burnt Cabins Ball Field, and 5 tankers shuttled water to the
scene. Quint 7 (Mount Union) was set up on the A- side of the
structure to finish the job. Shade Gap was assisted on scene by
Huntingdon County 7, 9, 900, 12, 20, and 21; Franklin County 11,
12, and 21; Fulton County 56, and 57. Crews were on the scene
until 06:45, and a fire marshal was called in from
Hollidaysburg.

NEW ENGINE BAYS TAKING
SHAPE
March 21- In
preparation of moving the apparatus into their new home, Company
14 members met today to get the apparatus guide lines on the
floor. Thanks to the members who turned out for this event,
including Alex the firedog, Company 14's poor mans Dalmatian.

TREE DOWN ON POWER LINES
March 13- At 10:10,
Company 14 was alerted to Locke's Valley Rd. for a reported tree
into power lines. Special Unit 14 arrived to find a tree
blocking roadway and laying across power wires. Penelec was
alerted by Assistant Chief 14 and traffic was controlled until
the arrival of Penelec. Units went available at 13:55.
BRUSH FIRE
March 11- At 15:08,
Company 14 was dispatched. Company 14 arrived on scene, and
worked to wet down hot spots. Company 14 returned to station at
15:47.
BUILDING FIRE
March 10-
At 7:41, Company 14 was dispatched to a building fire. Crews
arrived to a fully involved structure. ET 14 then became part of
a shuttle supplying other companies with 9,000 gallons of water
on scene. Company 14 was back in station at 11:40.
2010 AWARDS BANQUET
March 6- Tonight,
members of Company 14 had their annual awards banquet. Many
awards were given. Including the firefighter of the year,
presented to Justin Yohn by Chief Rick McMullen. Other awards
were presented. The Fire Chiefs award was given to Ronald Shehan,
Jr. by Chief Rick McMullen. President's award was given to John
Appleby by President Ed Goshorn. Many other awards were given.
The guest speaker for the evening was Adam Miller, who is the
EMA Director for Huntingdon County.


BUILDING FIRE
February 14- At 1:00,
Company 14 was dispatched to a building fire. The building was
fully involved. Company 14 took part in a water shuttle, and
delivered 3 loads of water before returning. Company 14 was back
in service at 2:51. Company 14 was back in quarters at 3:50.
FLUE FIRE
January 31- At 20:25,
Company 14 was dispatched to a flue fire. Crews climbed to the
top of the roof. Company 14 took care of the flue, and removed
smoke from the basement. Company 14 returned to station at
22:00.


ASSIST ON STRUCTURE FIRE
January 27- Company
14 was dispatched at 0:56 for an assist on a structure fire.
Crews were staged nearby and worked to detect hot spots. Company
14 was back in quarters at3:35.

FIRE
January 19- At 6:27,
Company 14 responded to assist Company 7. Crews were staged
nearby and were sent to detect hot spots in the building.
Company 14 was back in quarters at 9:30.
TWO-
VEHICLE MVA
December 23- Company
14 was dispatched at 9:07 to a two- vehicle MVA. Upon arrival,
crews found a vehicle across the roadway. The second vehicle was
a tractor- trailer. Crews were able to secure the scene and were
back in service at 9:49.
COMBINE FIRE
November 28- At 9:54
Co. 14 was called to a combine on fire in a field. Company 14
suppressed the fire with 1,500 gallons of water. Special Unit 14
and Ambulance 900 were put on standby at the farm house. Nobody
was injured in the fire. Chief 14 placed the box available at
11:17. Crews were in station at 12:00.


TWO-
VEHICLE MVA
November 23- At
16:41, Special Unit 14 was dispatched to a two vehicle accident.
Company 14 arrived to find both vehicles were off the roadway
and both patients had no injuries. Co. 14 handled traffic
control until roadway was clear. Special Unit 14 was back in
quarters at 17:35.
MINOR
INJURY MVA
November 9- At 5:24
hours, Company 14 was called to a one vehicle accident into the
guardrails. The patient was not in serious condition but was
transported to a hospital by Ambulance Franklin County 12-8.
Company 14 maintained traffic control and returned in the
station at 6:30.
HELICOPTER MAKES EMERGENCY
LANDING AT HARPERS MEMORIAL PARK
October 23- Today, a
two-seat helicopter had to make an emergency landing in Harpers
Memorial Park. The two occupants were flying from Chicago to New
York, when they were diverted south to bypass an incoming
weather front. The helicopter was grounded for the evening and
the pilot and owner were put up in Station 14 for the night. The
front passed overnight and the crew took off at 07:30 the next
day.

FIRE PREVENTION AT SHADE
GAP ELEMENTARY
October 9- On Friday,
the company went to the Shade Gap Elementary School for our
annual fire prevention presentation. The students and teachers
got to see the Amkus system in use cutting a car.


MULTIPLE- AID BARN FIRE
September 24- At
23:17, units from Companies from: 14, 9, 12, 7, 20, 21,
Ambulance 900 and Franklin County Companies from: 12, 21, 11,
and Fulton County Companies: 56, 57, and Quint 53 reported to a
fully involved barn fire. Company 14 made the initial attack on
the fire. Multiple fill sites were in place to supply water to
all units attacking the fire. All units were released from the
scene at 04:29. Company 14 arrived back in quarters at 07:40.
Hours after the fire was put out, crews responded twice to put
out the rekindled rubble from the original fire.
CO. 14 CHECKS OUT NEW TRUCK
September 20- At
13:00 members of Company 14 checked out a new fire truck. A
representative from Glick arrived to show a new truck from
Pierce.

MVA IN THE AFTERNOON
September 15- At
16:38, Company 14 was dispatched to a one vehicle MVA with
vehicle into the guard rails. Company 14 arrived on the scene to
find two patients unharmed. Crews shut down the roadway until
the vehicle was towed away. Units were back in service at 18:10.

COMPANY 14 RECEIVES KEITH
HESS MEMORIAL AWARD
The officers and members of the Shade Gap Area Volunteer Fire
Company would like to thank the Fannett-Metal Fire Company on
being named the recipients of the Keith Hess Memorial Award. The
award was presented during the 2009 Path Valley Picnic, and has
great meaning to the members of Shade Gap. May the memory of
Keith live on forever.

ANOTHER "STUD" FIREMAN GOES
OFF THE MARKET
September 12th-
Today, the women in Central Pennsylvania wept as another
firefighter got hitched. The officers and members of
Company 14 would like to congratulate Deputy Chief 14, David "Davey"
McMullen and his new bride Ruth on their marriage and wish them
all the best in their new life together.

ROLLOVER ON THE MOUNTAIN
September 12th- At
08:31, Company 14 and Orbisonia EMS was dispatched to the
Neelyton Mt. for a reported MVA. The crews battled fog, rain,
and heavy Penn State traffic to care for 3 patients. After the
patients were loaded onto the ambulance, Company 14 maintained
traffic until PSP and a rollback from Clarks 4X4 could do their
job. Units went available at 09:53.

TRANSFER TO FRANKLIN COUNTY
September 2nd- Engine
Rescue 14 was dispatched at 03:46 for a transfer to Franklin
County Company 12 Station. The crew covered Fannett-Metals area
until 05:56.
ASSIST ON STRUCTURE FIRE
September 1st-
Company 14 was dispatched at 01:42 to assist Three Springs Fire
Company for a reported structure fire in the borough of Saltillo.
Units were placed available by Command 12 before reaching the
scene.
OUTSIDE INVESTIGATION
August 28th- At
15:20, Company 14 was dispatched for a local assignment for an
outside investigation. Special Unit 14, and Engine Tanker 14
responded along with Chief 14. Upon Chief 14's arrival, the
investigation turned out to be a home owner burning trash. Units
were placed available at 15:35.
REPORTED SILO FIRE
August 26th- Company 14, Company 9, and
Orbisonia EMS were called to Shade Valley Rd. for a reported
silo fire. While in route, Chief 14 called for additional units
from Franklin County Station 12. Upon arrival, a half full ten
ton grain bin was found with heavy smoke. The grain bin
contained approx. 5 ton of mineral feed supplement. Temperatures
were taken with the thermal camera and reached up to 800
degrees. The contents of the bin were hand shoveled away from
the bin and scattered with a skid loader operated by the home
owner. The call lasted 1 hour and 40 minutes.

LANDING ZONE AT NEELYTON
August 21- Company 14 was dispatched
to the ball field in Neelyton to set up a landing zone for
incoming air medical. Stat Medivac 3 out of Hagerstown, MD
was landed at the ball field meeting Ambulance 1200, Three
Springs. Company 14 assisted in loading patient unto
helicopter. Company 14 was cleared.
WORKING STRUCTURE FIRE
August 13th- At 05:42 Station 14, along
with Box 14-6, was dispatched to Creek Road for a possible
structure fire. Chief 14 arrived on scene and reported
working structure fire. Structure was a mobile home and
was fully involved. Responders, hampered by tight
quarters, suppressed the fire, mopped up, and covered the
structure with foam. Shade Gap was assisted by Orbisonia,
Three Springs, Mount Union, Trough Creek, Fannett Metal, Metal
Township, Pleasant Hall, Hustontown, and McConnellsburg.
Units were placed available at 07:40. Three Springs
provided a transfer crew until Company 14 packed everything up.
Company 14 went available at 09:18. Red Cross was called
in to assist homeowner.
GROUND BREAKING CEREMONY
FOR NEW ADDITION TO STATION
July 23rd- Today the ground was
broken behind Station 14 for an addition to the existing
station. The addition when completed will give Shade Gap three
new apparatus bays, office and storage space. Present for the
ground breaking was: the Shade Gap Fire Company Board of
Directors, Representatives from the Ladies Auxilary, Dublin
Township, Tell Township, F&M Trust and The Daily News.

EARLY MORNING MVA
July 15th- At 03:23, Company 14 was
dispatched to Neelyton Rd. for a reported MVA. Upon arrival,
Chief 14 reported a single vehicle over an embankment. Special
Unit 14 arrived on scene and the vehicle was checked and no
patients were located. A perimeter search was conducted, turning
up nothing, so traffic was controlled until arrival of PSP.
Orbisonia Ambulance 900 and Medic 60 was placed available after
search. The call ended at 04:16.
FIRST DUE STRUCTURE FIRE
July 12th- At 00:35
hours, Huntingdon County dispatched units to Dublin Township
intersection of Neelyton Rd. and Hollow Rd. for a structure
fire. Company 14 and Chief 14 arrived finding a working fire
with fire through the roof. Crews made interior attacks on the
fire. After fire was put out, extensive overhaul was conducted.
Shade Gap was assisted by numerous companies.
At 3:37, Chief 14 placed the box in service.

NEW SCBA FILL STATION
INSTALLED
June 19th- Today, a
representative from Moul Enterprises installed our new SCBA fill
station and compressor. This also was bought through a grant,
and will allow members to fill air cylinders in our station,
instead of taking them somewhere else. The rep. will be back
later to give training once the air sample is approved.
CAR FIRE ON NEELYTON
MOUNTAIN
June 19th- At 20:32
Shade Gap was dispatched to a vehicle on fire. ET and Special
Unit 14 arrived and found a vehicle fire caused by an auto
accident. The driver was transported and crews put out the fire.
Crews returned at 23:30.
NEW FIVE INCH SUPPLY LINE
May 31st-
Today members of Company 14 tested and loaded the new five inch
supply lines obtained by a grant. 3,000 ft. was tested. 1,500
was placed onto Engine Tanker 14, and 1,000 was loaded onto
Engine Rescue 14. Thanks to Fannett-Metal for bringing Tanker 12
over to assist us with water.

ANOTHER MVA WITH ROLLOVER
May 21st- Shade
Gap was dispatched at 12:09 hours to a one vehicle MVA with a
rollover. Patient was cared for until turning care over to
Ambulance 21-8. Traffic was maintained until rollback arrived
cleared the scene. Shade Gap was placed available at 14:11.

MVA INVOLVING
TRACTOR-TRAILER
May 5th- Shade Gap
was dispatched at 17:20 to a two vehicle MVA, tractor-trailer
vs. pickup. Special Unit 14 and Chief 14 arrived to find a
pickup into the side of a trailer. Crews began patient care and
traffic control. One driver was transported by Ambulance 900.
Chief 14 placed all units available at 18:35.

BRUSH FIRE THREATENING A
STRUCTURE
April 18th- At 18:48
hours, Shade Gap was called to Deer Run Rd. for a brush fire. ET
14 and Brush 14 arrived and found about 3/4 of an acre burning
that was traveling uphill toward a shed. Crews began to attack
the fire and made fire lines to contain the fire. Fire was put
out with no damage to the building. Company 14 returned to
service at 20:08.
FIRST DUE DWELLING FIRE
March 20th-
At 12:07 hours, Huntingdon County dispatched the 14-6 box for a
dwelling fire on Hollow road in Dublin Township. ET-14 arrived
and found a single story dwelling heavily involved. Crews began
an exterior attack on the fire while additional units arrived.
Deputy Chief 14 arrived and assumed Command 14. Mount Union set
up the quint on side A and knocked the bulk of the fire down
with the ladder pipe. After that crew were able to move in with
handlines and start overhaul. Due to the location of the call,
access was limited and tankers had to shuttle water one by one
up the narrow driveway about half a mile to the scene, because
laying 5 inch supply line was not viable due to the elevation
and distance to the fire. After all the hot spots were taken
care of, crew then placed a heavy blanket of foam on the remains
to keep from having a rekindle. The home was a total loss. Shade
gap was assisted by crews from Orbisonia-Rockhill, Mount Union,
Three Springs, Metal Township, Fannett-Metal, Hustontown,
McConnellsburg, Pleasant Hall, and Cumberland Air 53 on scene,
and Mill Creek handled the transfer to Company 14. Company 14
returned to service at 17:47 hours.

BANQUET NIGHT FOR COMPANY
14 MEMBERS
March 14th-
Tonight members came together for our annual awards banquet at
the Ladies Auxiliary Building on Main Street. The members were
treated to a great meal the was prepared by the Fairview Church.
After the meal a video of old pictures from the company was
shown, even with some sound problems. After that Auxiliary
President Kate Cowan presented the Auxiliary Award to her
husband Randy. Fire Chief Rick McMullen then presented his
awards including the Fire Chief's Award to his wife Tracey, and
Firefighter of The Year Award to John Appleby. QRS Captain
Shannon Fegan gave the First Responder award to Danny Shoop, and
finally President Ed Goshorn, presented Danny Shoop with the
Presidents Award. A fun night was had by all in attendance, as
we celebrated another great year for the Shade Gap Area Fire
Company. Thanks to the transfer crews from Robertsdale, Wood &
Broad Top Fire Company and West End Fire & Rescue for staffing
our apparatus during the evening. Hopefully we'll have
pictures of the winners soon, that is as soon as they are
emailed to us.
BRUSH FIRE SEASON IS UPON
US
March 6th-
At 12:58 hours, units were dispatched to Dublin Township, on
Decorum Road, for a brush fire. SU-14, and ET-14 arrived to find
a fast moving fire heading toward a structure. Crews were able
to stop the fire before it made it to the structure. In all
around 10 acres burned, Shade Gap was assisted by numerous
mutual aid companies from Huntingdon, Franklin, and Fulton
Counties.
March 11th-
Just days after Brush 14 was placed back in service for the
season, it was called to Franklin County to assist Fannett-Metal
with a brush fire on Back Road in Fannett Township. The brush
arrived and assisted with containing the fire and making fire
lines before being released by Command 12.
BUSY DAY FOR THE 14 HOUSE
March 4th-
Today was a busy day for Company 14, ET-14 was dispatched to
Shirley Township, on Salt road, to assist Mount Union, Company 7
with a garage fire. ET-14 arrived and sent available manpower to
the scene to assist with overhaul and the tanker dumped one load
of water. While on the scene Huntingdon County dispatched units
to Tell Township, on Shade Valley Road, for a field fire. SU-14,
ER-14 and Deputy Chief 14 arrived and found about two acres
burning and being driven up a hill by the wind. Deputy Chief 14
requested units from Franklin County Company 12 for an engine
and brush, and also additional brush trucks from Company 9 and
7. Crews were able to stop the fire and establish fire lines
around the perimeter. ET-14 arrived on the scene after being
released by Command 7 and also assisted on scene. Company 14
units returned to service at 18:48 hours.
ET-14 RUNS DWELLING FIRE
February 20th-
Huntingdon County dispatched units at 11:47 hours to Clark Road
in Cromwell Township, for a dwelling fire in Company 9's first
due. Chief 9 arrived on scene and reported a working fire.
Engine-Tanker 14 arrived and was told to dump their water in a
port-a-tank at the scene and proceed to shuttle operations. The
crew went to the scene and were sent inside to help crews with
overhaul operations, and to put foam on the smoldering debris.
ET-14's crew worked on the for a little over an hour before
being placed in service by Chief 9. Engine-Tanker 14 returned to
service at 13:11 hours.
MVA IN TELL TOWNSHIP
February 16th-
At 14:35 hours, crews from Shade Gap and Franklin County Company
12 (Fannett-Metal),were dispatched to Batton Hollow Road in Tell
Township for an MVA. Company 14 and Chief 14 arrived to find a
single vehicle into a tree with both occupants self extricated
and being treated by members of Fannett-Metal EMS. Crews took
care of hazards and traffic control until being placed in
service at 15:40 hours.
CAR FIRE IN DUBLIN TOWNSHIP
February 11th-
Units from Company 14 were dispatched at 10:21 hours to
O'Donnell Road in Dublin Township, for a vehicle fire. ER-14 and
1st Assistant Chief 14 arrived and found a fully involved car
with some brush burning nearby. The crew made quick work of both
fires and returned to service at 12:00 hours.
FIRST DUE DWELLING FIRE
January 12th-
At 11:46 hours Huntingdon County dispatched Company 14 and
surrounding units to Locke Road in Dublin Township, for a
dwelling fire. 1st Assistant 14 arrived to find a single story
dwelling with smoke showing from the front and fire showing in
the rear. Crews made an aggressive attack from the front to hold
most of the fire to the rear, however the fire had a good hold
in the rafters and roof area and self vented before crews made
it to the roof to open up. The crews were able to keep the fire
in check for the most part and held it to the area of origin,
with some smoke damage to the rest of the house. Company 14
returned to service at 15:00 hours. The address was a familiar
one, in March 2008, crews battled a garage fire at the
residence.

ENGINE TANKER ASSISTS ON
SALTILLO FIRE
December 24th-
Engine-Tanker 14 was dispatched at 11:18 hours to the Borough of
Saltillo to assist Three Springs for a dwelling fire. Crews
arrived to find a working fire, the crew from Shade Gap arrived
and was put to work assisting with interior and exterior
operations. Engine Tanker 14 returned to service at 14:45 hours.
FIRST DUE FIRE IN TELL
TOWNSHIP
December 21st-
At 12:51 hours Huntingdon County dispatched units to Tuscarora
Creek Road in Tell Township, for a possible dwelling fire. As
units were responding there was some confusion as to where the
actual location was. After the location was finally found, the
crews found a fire in a small shed that had a outside wood stove
in it. Crews from Shade Gap made quick work of the fire and
Chief 14 held units from Shade Gap and Fannett-Metal to the
scene and returned the rest. After all was said and done, the
house number that units were dispatched to, was actually the zip
code for Blairs Mills. Company 14 returned to service at 14:55
hours.
